I read Briallen Bevin before I found your AQ stories, and while I enjoyed the first book, I found similar problems with the writing. As well, I did not enjoy the second book nearly as much, and stopped reading several chapters in.
I never heard of the first you mentioned, and after I get back from work tomorrow, I plan on checking it out.
Of that one written by the terminally-ill girl, I tried to read it but I couldn't. I can't say anything about the writing, as I could help but thinking about how sad it was that that father and his daughter worked for so long on the fic, and he posted it after she died. I felt like I couldn't focus on the story itself, with that in my mind, so I didn't want to just give part of my attention to it. That may sound weird, but it's the truth.
