First, as foolish as Alex has been, you've got to admit that the kid has a knack for dueling. Taking down two older witches, even if she took the first one by surprise, is an impressive feat.

Second... where the heck are the Aurors? They've got her Trace, and she's just fired off more than a few serious spells. I figured they'd have started popping out of the dark before she'd even finished the bonds on her unknown opponents.

Third, Alex better run. Fast. Leave the murderers to their rightful fate and try to find some way to warn the local magical authorities that there are better than half a dozen werewolves loose in the desert.

Most of the werewolves seemed to be non-magical folk, yet they saw nothing unusual about medicine men and women having special powers. I liked that.

Just think, all this could probably have been avoided if she'd just given Henry the map fragment. Will she ever learn?
