American Gods is still sitting in my to-be-read pile, I found a copy for cheap second-hand and I feel I should read it, but I'm not really enthused at the prospect. I've never really enjoyed Gaiman's work - I can't put my finger on why, but it seems soulless somehow. Calculating? Like he's writing at one removed, 'this is the kind of book an author like me would write' is the overall impression I get from him.
