I'd be interested in the Tanya Grotter books, too, just to compare how much got kept and how much was changed, how language and depth differ, and so on. I don't expect it to be a second "The Wizard of the Emerald City" by Alexander Melentyevich Volkov, which started out as a "loose translation" of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", and then became its own, rather captivating fantasy universe in the whole of six sequels. They were part of many a people's childhoods, before fantasy became a real thing (impossible behind the Iron Curtain).
