Really? My mother and I enjoyed it a lot. It reminded me of my own struggles with mental illness---the midnight meltdown scene was hard to watch because I've done similar things (though less violently). I will admit that the individual scenes are stronger than the overarching plot.
Have you read the book? When I saw this post, I though it was going to be a review of that, and I got excited. I finished it recently, but the movie is a bit stronger---it meanders less, though the plot is altered to be more movie-ish.
