The only one I can think of is Anna staying with Alex for another year and falling deeper under her influence (not to mention Alex suffering a moderating influence that might well have made the difference between her being expelled or not). But I can't imagine the Confederation - or any bureaucracy - being that far-sighted. And if they wanted to make Anna a plant on Alex, they seem thus far to have failed quite spectacularly.
