Thank you so much for your wonderful reviews. I love history, and your review of this book and Rape of Nanking have convinced me to put both on my list. I've recently become fascinated with Japan before, during and after WWII, after reading several of Kazuo Ishiguro's early novels and two wonderful nonfiction books, Midnight in Broad Daylight by Pamela Sakamoto and Japan at War: An Oral History by Haruko Cook. I highly recommend them. Thanks again for your posts.
