Well, "the sex who has babies" is almost the definition of females, among mammals anyway. Furthermore I think it rather likely that at least a plurality of future societies will assign females that role even if it's no longer necessary: i.e. even if "have babies" means "be in charge of contracting with the uterine replicator people."
