This might say more about me than anything, but I find that "if" (as opposed to a "since") rather suspicious; you're leaving yourself an out in case Lilith actually was in the Thorn Circle. (Presumably she left before the end, which is why she wasn't in the list of names Abraham leaked in Book 3.) She does seem to dislike the Confederation a lot...
