Definitely read AQATTC after HHD, on Schnoogle. I didn't and don't have the patience to follow the daily updates on FF.net. Frankly, HHD was find, novel even, but the sweep of AQ drew me in quickly (I think after book two started posting, though I'm not sure--that's how I answered the poll) and eventually I started this LJ account just to be part of 1001 Books.
This re-read has been great, there are lots of details that I had forgotten (or possibly not even noticed the first time).
