I started with HHD and then went onto AQ.
I prefer HHD's laugh a minute style, but you never intended AQ to be laugh a minute.
Alex is a brat. That is the whole point of the Story. She only becomes unlikable in book 4, when she is TOO bratty.
Aristotle made his millions by preaching the Golden Mean = too much of anything is a bad thing = Goldilocks.
