Why wait, when the desired bok is only a couple of clicks away on Amazon and worth less then five bucks? I personally have bought a lot of books in such situations.
What I am trying to say is, of course, that if you think Card does not deserve the opportunity to make a living, then the only moral choice is not to read his work at all. Consuming the product while wishing ill on the producer is pure hypocrisy and theft, even if it's technically legal.
