AQATWA: People are worried

I've gotten several PMs in the last couple of weeks asking "Hey, are you still around?" (And "Hey, are you still writing the next book in the Alexandra Quick series?")

Yes, and yes.

And yes, it's still going damned slowly.

I remember when I was reliably writing a book a year. And now it's going on three years. I don't blame the folks who have given up waiting. Hopefully they will return when I finally do bring out the next volume.

For what it's worth, I am back to making myself write a little bit each night - even if it's only a little. I just finished Chapter 36, and 184K words.

don't worry, those of us waiting will be patient. :) I can think of another fanfic that I've waited 10 years for (Not for the next part! But I remember reading the first parts of her story in high school... and she finally "finished" it last year. It was a REALLY REALLY long story..) s I'm happy tio keep waiting for Alexandra :D

I'm still here too. Although I'll probably have to go back and at least skim the previous books to get up to speed on what's happening and where the characters are in their development. Are you working on anything else, writing-wise?

Not really (sigh), though I have a few ideas I have been tossing around.

Thank god. When you have the "muse", just take advantage of whenever it strikes.

I may have asked this question before, but, do you have a rough idea of how many chapters this one will be??

Exact chapter count, no. But I do think this will be the longest book of the series yet.

I check back for updates quite often, but lately i've been busy with work and stuff...so in a way I can see why its been such a loooong time since we last got to see Alexandra in action. Would it be possible to maybe get a "cut from the editors floor" after it's been proof read??

Guess I'd better register that I'm still waiting. Luckily I've found an almost-as-good and more productive writer in the meanwhile (DianeCastle on Twisting The Hellmouth).

If I had gotten into BtVS before the show ended, it's likely I would have become a Buffy fanfic writer rather than Harry Potter.

In an alternate universe, there is an Inverarity the Buffy fic writer.

I imagine you get many messages like this

But I created this account so I can follow your writing and reviews. Your stories have added so much to my life, and I'm really really pleased to see you didn't abandon this project. It feels like I regained a bit of my childhood with your series~ thank you so much for contributing to the huge hp universe. Your series has really captured the canonical world in such a fluid way that it feels canon to me~
Thank you again!
