I logged in to Live Journal for the first time in five years just to thank you for this review. Frankly, I don't read much science fiction anymore, and I have been passing over or skimming many of your reviews. Something in this one captured my interest and it was available from my local library as an e-book.
I didn't find it tedious at all personally, though I think I understand what you meant. And fortunately the author didn't go into detail about what exactly the "quantum mirror" actually was, since the pseudo-science some authors descend to can be rebarbative. (My spellcheck doesn't like that word, but I just looked it up when "off-putting" seemed insufficiently literary.)
Thank you for a great review, as well as many other reviews which I didn't follow up (yet, at least) and, of course, Alexandra Quick.
Thank you
