What's up with LiveJournal?

I usually get email notifications to any comments on my LJ, or in response to my posts and comments elsewhere, but I haven't gotten any for the last day. Is it just me, or is LJ whack right now?

Also, the frequency of spam has been increasingly lately. Spam annoys me very, very much. I have not quite gotten to the point where I'm going to turn off anonymous comments, but I may do it if spam continues to increase. I know some of you don't want to create a LJ account just so you can comment on my blog, which is why I keep anonymous commenting enabled, but damn, LJ really needs to get their act together.

Also, thank you for all the suggestions about how Alexandra can sneak on board a bus or a train, but like I said, I've already solved that problem. :)

(Jeez, some of you are eager to corrupt a minor. Confound a Muggle? Magically steal money from an ATM? Not that such behavior is completely beneath her... And as much as Alexandra might wish her parents would let her have a credit card -- not a chance!)

ETA: LiveJournal is still borked. I'm getting email notifications delivered to me up to 5 days after they were posted.

LJ had some scheduled downtime yesterday, maybe that is the reason for the missing/delayed notifications?

Well, they're sure delayed now -- I just got an email notification for this post 4 days later!

Haha, irony.

If you have Yahoo e-mail, check whether by any chance Livejournal notifications have ended up among the barred adresses which are automatically refused. It happened to both me and a friend of mine, for no reason that either of us could guess.

Actually, I regretted the Confundus bit nearly as soon as I wrote it. I did not delete and correct it because you said you had it solved anyway. But if you were to ask me now, I'd suggest just have her stand on a road out of Chicago with her thumb out. No need for a confundus: my experience says that there are very few things you can't get away with, if you're calm and shameless enough.

I have that problem periodically, but I haven't noticed it lately--but I haven't been on LJ for about a week, so I wouldn't necessarily have noticed if I wasn't getting e-mail notification.

(pardon the random drop-in, was searching for an LJ community or something to post this info and your entry came up in the search results)

At least one outbound IP address that LJ uses for email notifications (208.93.0.128, dunno if there are others) has landed on the spamhaus blacklist, which a lot of mail servers use to pre-emptively reject mail from suspected spam sources.

Unfortunately depending on how you get your email you may not be in a position to do anything with this info.

May I have another 1001 assignment?

As the person who suggested the ATM, I remember it being done years ago by 15 year old Kitty Pryde of the X-Men. The fact that Ninjas with mind control powers were chasing her was considered a reasonable excuse to break in said ATM.

I guess I applied the same morality to Alexandra. Considering there are some not nice people in her world, I would give her a pass, not for mere convience, but under the the threat of life and limb, yes.

Hmmm... Actually, I did create a LJ account so I could comment on your blog...
