From Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go, by Toshiro Kageyama:

Following the standard handicap opening of 1, 3, and 5 the joseki runs from Black 6 to White 27. If Black now descends to 'A', White will live easily. That is how most people would play, but there is a move here that will vex White considerably. Can you find Black 28 and read out the whole continuation?

A vexing problem.

Answer tomorrow.

It has been a long time since I've played Go, but I'd put a stone to the right of White 7. That way, White has less room to make two Eyes. I'm not sure precisely how White would respond (again, it's been a while), but maybe to the right of Black 12? But then I play to the right of White 1, and White has to play above White 11. Now I'm not sure--perhaps to the right of Black 24, then White captures Black 26, then I play above White 23. Then White'll probably play to the right of my most recent move, I play above Black 22, and he plays where White 26 used to be. He has two eyes unfortunately but I severely limited the damage.

Or so it seems on a first glance, but I'm probably missing something big...
