I feel like I should post something about AQATWA every now and then.

I won't say I am suffering writer's block, exactly, but I'm stuck and have been having a devil of a time getting past this sticky point to the parts that are, uh, more interesting.

Now, standard writing advice is that if there is a part of your story that's boring you, it will almost certainly bore your readers, so you should cut it. But I really need this transitional chapter, so I am trying to figure out how to cut the part that's aggravating me while keeping the important stuff.

Another piece of writing advice is that if you're stuck on one part, write a different chapter. You don't have to write everything in order. But I've always written in a linear fashion, and I can't seem to make myself break that pattern.

So, yeah, not a lot of progress in the past couple of weeks. :/ But I mean to plug away some more this weekend!

Chapter N has exciting, interesting stuff. You enjoy it. You have had so much feedback from the Audience that you can make a reasonable extimate that a large percentage of the Audience will njoy it too.

Milord, you have a cunning plan that chapter M+2 will also be Njoyable. BUT, you need chapter N+1 to exposit the FUNDAMENTAL laws of Magick (FlM) such that Chapter N+2 goes the right way and Audience don't feel cheated because you pulled Fundamental laws of Magick (FlM) out of your ass at the last minute.

Write Chapter N+2. NEXT, make a list of FlM you need to pull out of your arse to make chapter N+2 work. THIRD, write chapter N+1 Xposition as if these NEW FlM were there all the time.
